    What is floristry. Taking part in the actual floristic retail business: receiving floral material from the wholesaler, taking care of individual sorts of flowers upon reception, storage, preparatory works, etc. under the guidance of experienced florists. Identifying plants and other floristic material. Theory and reality of storing flowers how to create floristic objects: bouquets, wreaths, funeral arrangements. How to handle the flower shop retail tasks: how to take an order, prices, Basics of floristic esthetic theory: line, shape, colour, types of arrangements and how to work with these concepts in the real world.
  • Professional vocational training "Florist" and "Florist Arrangement Specialist"
    Professional vocational training "Florist" and "Florist Arrangement Specialist" takes place in accordance with conditions set by the National Register of Qualifications (Ministry of Education) and is attested by the state examination. The student, upon successful passing of the examination, receives a state diploma which is valid nationwide.
  • Course enrollment.
    Individual time for course enrollment and examinations are offered individually according to our teams needs and demands. We accept those of you, who are not only interested, but are ready to devote two to three months of their life to intensely study and work on your future - your florist qualification.
  • Course time plan
    Course time plan: 10 to 12 weeks of theoretical and practical preparation ends with the state examination (specific time-table depends upon individual possibilities and the floristic season).
  • Study and work as florist - how exactly?
    You get enrolled simultaneously into a job (at a 6 or 8h/day contract) and into the study programme. You are getting ready for the examination while on the job as an assistant florist and retail seller with our team. You may be offered the status of scholarship.
  • What students have at their disposal
    practical exercises; all necessary materials, tools; technical support; theoretical lectures; study materials - text book, study cards to learn names of flowers; personal tutor; intensive participation in the retail flower store day-to-day work; access to current Czech and international literature in floristry.

  • Housing possibility
    Slaměnka APPARTEMENTS offers to economically disadvantaged students for a limited period of time (max. of 12 months) financially accessible or fully financially eased housing facility, which offers ideal conditions to devote yourself to study and work. This possibility is limited, and can be negotiated well in advance for sincere and devoted students of floristry - please contact us well ahead in order to plan well.
